Lazy rainy Sunday.

0
I think I finally got out of bed around 10:30 or so. It was raining pretty hard here. Frankly, the only motivation to get out of bed was that's where the coffee was.

Toughest yoga workout yet!

0

There has to be some reason why our instructor loves to put us in downward facing dog so much???

Today's session was one of the toughest, but best, 80 minute classes yet.

Exhaustion!

0
Not really sure what the problem is. Possibly just getting back into the groove of normal life after a week of 2nd shift, a week of visitors/vacation, and a week of anticipation of the wife's new job.

The two of us have alternated between not being able to sleep and total exhaustion.

In this economy, even with her skills, it was a challenge. I'm very proud of her for being persistent and not getting discouraged.

Back to work...

After one week on 2nd shift, then a somewhat unplanned week of vacation, tomorrow it's back to work.

Home made limoncello

0
I made this with some of the lemon peels from our harvest. Steeped for 5 days total. It's strong (made with vodka), but really tasty!

Family

0

The week-long visit of the mom- and sis-in-law ended today. A week is just not long enough. It was a good time, with everyone enjoying the Grand Canyon, eating street-tacos, stealing oranges, squeezing dozens of lemons, and getting lots of sun. The weather was mid-high 70s and sunny all week. Once they left today, it was in the low 60s and rainy. The wife said Arizona was sad...and so were we.

Hot fruit!

0
A house across the street has been empty for a while. And I keep noticing their orange tree hanging over the fence, with HUGE oranges on it. Well, I couldn't stand it any longer. The sister-in-law, mother-in-law, and I went on a raid after dark...

Strolled along Mill Ave. yesterday. P.F. Chang's for lunch. It was mid-70s and beautiful!

Walked up on this in the "Contemporary" section of the Phoenix Art Museum.

Farmer's Market

Before that, and hour and 20 minutes of yoga. Afterwards, lunch with friends. Followed by more cleaning, cooking (ham, garlic smashed potatoes, and roasted asparagus with Parmesan). Picking up the family in about 45 minutes. WHEW!

Last night of 2nd shift!

I'm really glad that is over. Now it's time for a 3-day weekend!

Challis Lane Cabernet '08

I really scored last sale. This was a good Cabernet, for what amounted to $5 per bottle. I'm happy they have it as part of the sale again. I'm picking up my case tomorrow!

Yard work

0
This is the back yard when we moved in. In the year and half since, the grass has grown in, and so have the bushes.

I spent the morning scrubbing the pool, trimming bushes, and drinking coffee.

Then, off to the office.

Second Shift

I started a week of second shift last night. For a bit, it was rather busy. Later on in the evening it seemed as though the end of shift would not arrive.

Yes, we are both sore from yesterday's yoga. Feel great, though.

Hal Holbrook

0
Last night we went to see Hal Holbrook on stage in 'Mark Twain Tonight!' Academy Award nominee Holbrook has been doing this one-man show since 1954. It was a very good show, by a very good actor. I'm glad we got the chance to see this one.

Yoga at Inside the Bungalow

We attended our first Saturday yoga session at Inside the Bungalow. It was an hour and twenty minutes, and whoa -- did it kick my......in a good way. It was probably the best yoga class that I have ever done. I can't wait to go again.

Cheap Veggies!

I found this place on Yelp. Being on a mostly-vegetable diet, I was intrigued by the reviews. After my first visit today, my wife and I have determined that this will be our weekly vegetable shopping place. Awesome prices!
